Yona is a combination between a carpet and a lounge chair with influences of fashion and architecture. The carpet in its extraordinary flower shape can be transformed into a clearly structured armchair. The carpet as a room influencing object, keeps after its transformation to an armchair its relation to the room, because of its design near the ground . Yona can be used as an armchair with many opportunities to sit on it, as a stand chair and as a carpet to sit and lie on.
YONA consists of an upholstery layer and a bearing structure. The upholsery is made of several thin foam layers and fabric while the bearing structure is made out of a polypropene sheet. The sheet gets foldable through a special milling and stabilizes itself in a the shape of an armchair by using an industrial Velcro.
